The business coaching market was estimated to be worth more than $15 billion in 2019, up by 5.6 percent compared to the previous year.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg. The global thought leader market, which mainly includes online coaching and digital learning, is expected to reach a combined value of more than $325 billion by 2025.

Think about it: Not every athlete has a coach, but all Olympians do.

Professionals all around the world are now learning from these elite athletes the power of high performance coaching in business.

How can you thrive in this expanding industry?

You may be thinking that you will need coaching certifications. But that is not necessarily true.

This one simple exercise makes everybody want you (sort of)

Have you ever not felt the pull at work and wanted to find new opportunities?

Here is a simple exercise on how you can reflect the most authentic and best you to the world and make everybody want you.

Let’s do an activity that I call High Performance Habit.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths....

Now think of three words that might describe your ideal self. Three words that would describe the best of you are or could be.

For example, my three words are conditioned, challenging, and role-modeling. Because I need to be in great physical and mental condition every time I coach my clients. My job is to challenge them to grow faster and rise taller than they would ever do on their own. And I need to be a good example because no one believes the message if they don’t believe the messenger.

So think about three words that describe who you are, how you need to show up in life, what actions you need to take consistently to get results, and the values and principles...

How to leave your job to start a business

Do you want to leave your job right now but have not figured out how to make the transition?

I am going to share with you three strategies that help you move forward with more certainty and confidence.

The wrong way of leaving your corporate job and starting to do what you love is to burn your boats.

I know many of my colleagues promote that approach. But I am more on the side of safeguarding your physical, mental, and financial well-being.

To do that, you will need to build three things:

  • Create a product or service that people want
  • Generate traffic to your shop or shopping cart
  • Deliver your product or service

What I want you to avoid, though, is that you leave your corporate job only to find out that either or neither of these things are broken and then you lose your business and savings.

So, imagine this scenario. What if you knew in advance what the market really wants, you had proof that your sales process works, and you felt certain that you can deliver what you...

The #1 reason why you are not more productive

I have learned from coaching a wide variety of people, from CEO to interns, that the hardest workers often feel overwhelmed, NOT because they cannot set priorities, but because they have too many competing interests.

They want to make one more important call or finish one last task before they go home. But that extra effort comes at a cost, like spending quality time with kids before bedtime.

Or they skip the gym to accommodate a key client, but when they do this too often, they stress over their overall health or weight gain.

All four interests are equally important: Bringing in the money, making clients happy, staying vibrant and healthy, and connecting with the kids.

The reality is that there are only so many hours in a day. And overwhelm or a sense of being overloaded set in when we overspend them at work.

These feelings are signals that prompt you to reevaluate what is most important to you. Every emotion is a call to action.

When you feel overwhelmed or overloaded, your...

How to cope, lead, and grow right now

I am giving everybody permission to suck.

Because brave leaders don't withdraw in hard times, they come through with courage. And if you are not willing to fail, you cannot innovate. When there is no tolerance for failure, there is no creativity.

If we all dared to suck every day, things would change more rapidly.

I hope this video inspires you to chose courage over comfort and to show up when you cannot control the outcome. This moment in time is your proofing ground for creating meaning, connection, and vibrancy for an uncertain future.

You have the heart of a lioness. Why do you let it beat like that of a mouse?

There are millions of people on social media who will never step forward and dare to lead - but are just as eager to rip those apart who do.

Be the leader and continue the conversation with me here:

How to work at home with kids and not be a sucky parent or lousy employee

The answers are surprising. I asked my followers: ‘How are you and your family doing during the COVID 19 lockdown? What do you need most right now?' Almost everybody kept a positive attitude. But when it came to their kids: not so much. A barrage of counter-questions followed: 'How can we work from home with a three-year-old running around?' 'What can we do without them distracting us from working?' 'What if they bomb the video call with my client?'

Easy answers for me. My wife, Ann, and I have worked from home for eleven years, side-by-side, while raising our now 9-year old son. Here is what we learned.

Kill the 9-to-5

Let’s face it. Working with kids at home requires a lot of flexibility. The 9-to-5 mentality will no longer do. And that is a good thing because it is an outdated model from the last century. The 9-to-5 workday was invented by American labor unions in the 1800s and went mainstream courtesy of Henry Ford in the 1920s to streamline factory shifts....

Bring certainty where there is not any

This is the time to skill up, level up, and serve. In two years from now, we will look back at this time and be proud of how we carried ourselves. That’s why I am on fire today.
I am working hard on coaching my clients through hard questions:
'How do I lead my team through this crisis?'
'How can I virtualize more?'
'How can I be a good caretaker when I cannot visit the hospital?'
'How can I be productive with the kids running around?'
'How do I give birth now?'
'How do I hold a virtual funeral?'
And - this is a true question I heard: 'How do I have sex with my partner now that I have no more excuses?'
My focus is shifting.
Surrounding ourselves with the right people is vital right now. So I also put together a Mastermind Group of like-minded people.
We need to plant the seeds now so that we can rise above when this is over.
Yes, we can...

Skill up, level up, and lead to protect your future

This picture was taken five years ago at the Beijing International Trade Fair. I may not ever again fly to China in a world that has completely gone virtual in just a few weeks.

Since the COVID-19 began, I have spoken with business leaders from all around the world from billionaires to small business owners and thriving solopreneurs.

None of them have experienced any drop in income since the global shutdown. Most have grown their mailing lists, sold more products or services. And they all agreed on the one thing that we all now need to implement in our companies and lives.

This is an urgent time to SKILL UP and ADD VALUE to others virtually right now.

What we have learned from the global financial crisis in 2008/9 and the burst of the dotcom bubble in the late 90s is: Companies and people who withdrew and contracted took longer to recover and experienced a much slower rise when the crisis was over than they could have.

I'm worried about people who are going to get left behind if...
